SMA AGM 2025 will offer members a chance to comment and get involved in the running of your SMA.
SMA members are the owners and principal stakeholders of the association, and this is your opportunity to:
- Confirm the existing board
- Apply to join the SMA board
- Vote on any new board members
- Read and Confirm or ask questions about the SMA Accounts and reports for 2024
At this year’s AGM, as well as approving the accounts and new directors, two proposals for rule changes will be debated:
- To allow existing Professional Members who inadvertently allow their subscription to lapse for up to 3 months to resume membership from their prior renewal date without rejoin fees or an automatic requirement for new references.
(SMA is aware of how busy members can be at work and how easy - despite reminders -it is to let membership slip at these times (or when ill or financially stretched). This will assist members to maintain continuity of SMA membership with minimum fuss and admin.)
Members are reminded that for the AGM to go ahead a minimum number of members must attend (A Quorum).
It is important for good governance of the Association, as well as for compliance, that as many members as possible attend this annual meeting.
